Creamy, cold and with a proper coffee kick, this Caramel Macchiato Protein Smoothie is perfect for breakfast, after a workout or whenever you want something between a coffee and a protein shake.

Our Protein+ Caramel Macchiato already contains real coffee, while frozen banana gives the smoothie its creamy texture and natural sweetness. Chia or flax seeds add a little extra fibre, and the fresh espresso shot on top gives it that real macchiato feel.

Ingredients

  • ½ frozen banana
  • 1 scoop Protein+ Caramel Macchiato
  • 250-300ml almond milk or oat milk
  • 1 tsp chia seeds or ground flax seeds
  • 1 pinch of sea salt
  • 1 fresh espresso shot
  • cinnamon, optional
  • A handful of ice cubes, optional

Preparation

  1. Add the frozen banana, Protein+ Caramel Macchiato, milk, chia or flax seeds and sea salt to a blender.
  2. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the smoothie into a glass.
  4. Prepare a fresh espresso shot and slowly pour it over the smoothie.
  5. Finish with a little cinnamon if you like and enjoy immediately!

Make It Your Own

You can also add:

  • 1 tsp raw honey if you prefer it sweeter
  • 1 tbsp almond or peanut butter for an even creamier texture
  • 3–5 g Creatine+ if it’s part of your daily routine
  • An extra espresso shot if you like your coffee strong

Chia or Flax?

Both work really well here. Chia seeds slightly thicken the smoothie as they absorb liquid, while ground flax seeds blend in more smoothly and add a subtle nutty flavour.

Either way, it is an easy way to add some extra fibre without changing the recipe too much.
